Sarafina she wolf So tell me... can you tame the wind? I think not! Deep breaths soon turned into shallow pants. The only thing I focused on was the breaths of my paws hitting the soft earth. One...two...three...four, why was I charging? more importantly where was I going? A soft breeze tickled my pelt as I slowed down. I might as well head back, dawn was approaching and people didn't like to see huge black wolves running around. No that might cause a world wide panic, humans had some problems. They couldn't expect to be the only creatures who dominate this earth. And when they find out something that scares them, they capture it and destroy it, I guess it is just the human way. I could have joined a pack with others like me, even tho there aren't many of us werewolves left. I could have joined the ranks as some low wolf, No. I am not one to be low, I prefer being alone anyways. Thick black pelt shiver as the sun neared, At a steady pace I began back toward the stables. I had an extra set of clothes waiting for me already. Limbs rushed forward once more, I loved the feeling of freedom. I was one with nature, I could feel the wolf side of me wanting to stay and run but I couldn't. There were things to do back at the stables, bales of hay to order, horses to work, and so on.
Slowly arriving by one of the back pastures, I looked for any signs of humans or anyone for that matter and slowly made my way into one of the old barns there. This barn was not used to house horses but the keep the feed nice and out of the weather. Sure its nice out right now, but when it rains it doesn't stop. And have you ever seen what moldy hay does to a horse? can you say colic. Changing back into my human form, I stopped hiding myself behind some stacked bales of hay, looking around for my clothes I stashed under one bale I realized they weren't there. Ahh hell. I sighed as I kept looking, finally my hand found something soft next to a wall. This wasn't where I left these. Slipping on my nice comfy jeans and black shirt I sighed. I had left a pair of shoes right here. Damn it. I yelled they weren't there, so I walked away barefooted. This was going to look a little weird, making my way over to my office on the side of the main barn right next to the biggest indoor arena we have. Some one needed to run this place, and I guess I'm stuck with the job. I really didn't mind it so much, I mean I love horses its just people I can really stand. Sighing I unlocked the door with a key I kept hidden in a huge flower pot. I had to admit it was nice to be back, slipping on an extra pair of paddock boots. I sat down at my wooden desk, putting my feet up. This was quiet relaxing, realizing I hadn't eaten anything I pulled open a wooden desk drawer. It had some snacks in it but I didn't want chips or crackers, feeling around making an aha sound when my hand rested on the smooth plastic surface. Pulling out a muffin, I smiled...yum. Popie seed was my favorite kind.
My smile faded as I herd my name being called, I swear these people don't know how to do anything. Annoyance hinting in the cool tones of my voice. Hired hands were such a pain, all they had to do was clean and feed that was IT. Slowly bringing my feet down. I stood up, and with my huge muffin in hand I walked out of my office. Slowly making my way into the main bar I took my time looking at each horse, stopping at one I didn't recognize. I shrugged and continued on. Oh well they have to come back sometime, then ill talk to them. Making my way over to one of the smaller arenas I noticed something was off. Now rushing over to the pen I realized what it was. A horse was lying down with its tack on...yes some horses like to roll but something was wrong. I smelled blood, it hung in the air. Whats going on. My voice found power as I looked at the people, a small girl lay next to the horse. Running over the the child I picked my way thro the crowding people. Some one get help. I yelled pulling the girl on my lap, From what I saw nothing was wrong with her, she was just passed out. Handing her to a man standing near who looked to be someone she knew I made my way over to the horse. The animal was lying down yet one leg wasn't shaped right, I could tell it was broken. I watched as the mare tried to get up, she cant do that it would only make things worse. Is there a vet here, I waited in silence. I had no clue what to do, so I panicked.

The stallion raised his well chiseled crown high, nares dilated as he snorted impatiently. Auds turned back to face the girl on his back, listening to her ramble on. She often did this during their rides. Just talk to herself randomly, or worse yet, to him. In which case he usually had to answer her with a nicker or a snort, or else she would think that he was ignoring her and go on about that. Really, it was usually just best to answer her. Also, he didn't really mind her rambling on all that much, because he knew that it meant that they'd be going for a gallop. They always did. They'd come out here, she'd vent a little, and when she was ready, or he had lost his patience, she'd give him the reins and let him gallop until his hearts content. Oh how the stallion loved to run. Just thinking about it made him want to go. He bobbed his head impatiently, snorting once more as he tried to pull on the reins and get her attention. His previously slow walking strides turned into miniture prances, like he was trying to refrain from jumping forwards and bolting. The girl chuckled, patting him on the neck affectionately. Leaning down lower on his neck, she gathered up the reins in her hand and whispered in his ear. "Alright then. You ready boy? Let's go!" As soon as he heard those last two words, the stallion bolted forwards at a swift canter. However, before long, his strides lengthened and he powered on, faster. The girl could feel the stallion surging beneath her as he galloped. She loved it. The power, the exhiliration, everything about her made her want to whoop out loud. Lifting her head, she couldn't help but laugh as the wind blew over he had, messing up her hair and making it blow around her face wildly. As the wind caused her eyes to stream with tears, she lowered her head once more, protected from the wind now by the stallions neck. However, suddenly, she felt that something was wrong.
She felt the stallion tense up beneath her even before he made any sign of distress. Then, his strides became slightly hesitant, his skullery lifting higher into the air, and from the whites of his eyes, Abbey Sue could see that he was clearly frightened of something. She gently pulled him up into a slow, bouncy canter. After all, if the stallion was going to freak out over something, she certainly didn't want to be going at full speed in case she fell off. Now that would be painful. She looked around, some of the stallions nervousness wearing off on her, but she could see nothing that would make him act like this. If it were another horse, she probably wouldn't have taken any notice. However, the perlino was known for his courage and it took a lot for him to freak. So his behaviour now really was peculiar. Suddenly, he came to a rather abrupt halt, sliding back onto his haunches. His crown shot up into the air as he whinnied shrilly, pawing the ground in front of him. It's a good thing she was expecting something like that to happen, becuase if not, Abbey Sue would've been shot straight out of the saddle and over the stags head. Instead, she managed to hold on and keep herself in the saddle. She stroked the stallions neck, murmering to him in a quiet voice, in an attempt to calm him down before dismounting. She kept glancing around, but she still couldn't see anything that would warrent such a reaction from the stag. Well not in this form anyways.. She had to check this out. Making sure they were completely alone, she tied the stallion to a low branch before stripping off her clothes and placing them on the same branch. Then, almost immediately after, the girl felt that same familiar tingling sensation as she shapeshifting into a small brown hawk. Flapping her wings quickly, she flew out onto another branch, preparing herself mentally more than anything for the flight to come, before pushing herself off the branch.
She soared upwards, past the thick canopy of the forest trees, and into the clear empty spaces of the sky. Not wanting to waste any time, she took off at once, soaring above the tree tops. Her sharp eyes scanned the ground below for any signs of life, anything that could have made the stallion spook like that. Suddenly, she spotted movement below and flew closer to the ground. It was big, and black, but the trees kept getting in the way and she couldn't tell exactly what it was. She decided to take a closer look. She spiralled downwards through the trees, down to the ground, pretending to pick something up in her talons, before flying back up and resting on a high branch. Well, it would seem a little odd indeed if she had just flew over the creature, following it. Plus, she could see it clearly now. It was a wolf. And a big one at that. Abbey Sue knew that could only mean one thing. Werewolf. Yes, a lot of humans didn't know about werewolves and all them lot, convinced that they're simply some myth or legend. But of course, Abbey Sue was no ordinary human. Obviously. Nope, she was shapeshifter, which sort of explained her now being a hawk pretty well. Or at least she thought so. So it was common knowledge to her to know of werewolves and vampires, and know that they didn't just exist in fairy tales. Not that there are many fairy tales about them, but, you know what I mean. She was curious as to who exactly this wolf was, but she didn't have time to check it out and follow them to where ever they were going. She had to get back to her horse. Once the wolf was out of sight, which didn't take very long at all as it was moving at quite a fast pace, she flew off the branch and off towards where she had left her ride. She flew lower to the ground this time, weaving in and out of the many trees in her way. she even managed a flip or so along the way. After all, it wasn't every day that she had the chance to fly so freely. Or at all.
Spotting the horse up ahead, she flew down onto the branch which held her clothes. Quickly checking that they were still alone, she morphed back into her human self and got changed into her clothes as quickly as she could. Sure, it was embarrassing, but the alternative was morphing whilst in her clothes, which would pretty much leave them shredded with her coming back from her little flight with nothing to change into. yeah, that would suck even more. Hence the stripping. Jeez, made it sound kind of dirty when you said it like that. Once she was back in her gear, she untied the stallion, placed his reins back over his head, before mounting once more. She then turned him around and nudged him into a gentle canter, back towards the stables where he was being boarded. Lexington Riding Stables to be exact. There was an old stable buliding at her new place, but it was so dilapitated and falling apart, that she thought it better to keep the stallion else where. Safer too. Not that she minded really. After all, at least while he was there she had free access to the riding arenas. And it wasn't exactly far from her house either. Just a few minutes drive up the road. The ride back took them no time at all, and before she knew it, the green and white painted building of the main stable was looming up ahead. She slowed the stag to an easy walk, wanting to give him time to cool down. However, As she reached the stable block, she felt immediately that somethign was very wrong indeed. She heard a yell from one of the arenas and automatically nudged the stallion into a canter towards it, pulling him up at the gate. As she dismounted, she saw a horse laying down, someone at its side. Once off, she ran into the arena, just as a man carried a girl away in his arms. She must be the rider. Then who? Oh, of course. She recognised the woman as Sarafina, who kept the stables going while the owner was away. She fell to her knees beside the horse, looking over at the woman quickly. "I'm not a vet, but I am studying to be one. So I guess I'm the best thing we've got until one arrives." She said, before focusing all her attention on the fallen horse. She saw the leg, it was at an odd angle. "That legs definately broken," she started, gently stroking the horse trying to calm her down and keep her from standing. "Can you get someone to fetch a first aid kit?" She asked, trying to clear the worry and panic clouding her mind and figure out what to do. The best thing she could think of was to set the bone back into place and splinter it, but she couldn't help but worry about setting it right.

Sarafina she wolf Take deep breaths, I watched the animal move in pain. Where was that damn vet? More and more people crowed, like moron watching the beautiful sabino suffer. The one thing on my mind was how to help. Never in my life I felt so weak, so powerless. I mean once I tried to save a starving kitten, it was doing so well. Until the next day, its body was so malnutrition the internal organs started to shut down. I thought, I could have saved it. If I had gotten the kitten just one day earlier it would have lived. Eyes turned back as I watched the mare try to pull herself off the ground again. Its like something took over me, Slowly grabbing the reins I urged the mare to lower her head and just lay there. Soft strong strokes, I calmed the frighten beast down. I have been riding for about 4 years and I still couldn't help. I was useless, past the murmuring of voice I herd a soft stride. Someone was coming, looking up I watched as a girl pushed her way through the stupid crowd. I watched as she drooped to her knees right beside me,she spoke and her words came as a relief to me.
There was something different about her, she didn't smell right. She did not only smell like a human but it was confusing. I kept my eyes on the girl watching her calm the horse. Awoken from my thoughts, I herd the girl speaking to me again. Yes of course, I breathed. Slowly standing up I turned toward the people, someone go get the first aid kit in my office...its right next to the door. My voice was filled with power once more, I watched as a woman ran toward the room. Looking back at the girl I smiled, A kind of sad smile. Not That long after the same woman made her way past all the people, with the first aid kit. Dropping it right beside the girl and I. I waited to see what she would do next, hopping to learn something from it.

Hearing the woman speak, she nodded curtly and racked through her mind for the right procedure in a situation like this. So she remembered studying broken bones and such in class, but they hadn't really gotten to the practical side of things. So really, she had never actually fixed a broken bone before. Just great. Thank goodness she had done some extra reading though. So at least she knew the basics in theory. But would it be enough. It'd have to be. What to do first. While somebody, as she didn't actually see who it was with her gaze firmly fixed on the horse before her, ran off to fetch the first aid kit, she pulled off her shirt, which luckily she had a singlet underneath and used it to try and wipe away most of the blood around the wound. "Does anyone have some water?" She asked and to her relief a man from the crowd steped forwards and handed her a water bottle. Not what she would normally use, but it had to do. She splashed a bit of water on the wound, trying to clean it up as much as she could. Thankfully the bleeding had slowed, but it was still flowing from the wound quite a bit. While they waited for the first aid kit, she checked over the horse more thoroughly. She made sure to check that the mare was breathing well as well as look for any other injuries. But apart from her leg, she seemed in okay condition.
Afetr what seemed like hours, though it coudn't have been more than a few minutes, another woman run over to them and handed over the first aid kit. Laying it on the ground, Abbey Sue opened it and quickly looked through it to make sure she had everything she needed. She then washed out the wound once more and wiped away the blood as gently as she could, though she knew that any pressure on it at all would probably cause the mare a few amount of pain. She would have to splint it, but before she did that she would have to reset the bone, seeing as it was definately out of place. This is the part that worried her. If she didn't set it right, she could actually do more harm than good. So she had to get this right. She turned to Sarafina quickly, trying not to look half as scared and nervous as she was feeling. "I'm going to have to set the bone back into place. It's going to hurt her quite a lot and she'll proobably try to move, or get up, so you'll have to hold her down. Can you do that?" She asked, though it wasn't really a question. She'd have to hold her down. It the mare got up, it'd just make her leg worse than it already was. And that was something they definately didn't need. Abbey Sue moved into position, closer to the broken leg, and after briefly cleaning away some of the blood, she made sure which way she'd need to set it. It was a good thing that it hadn't been fractured and broke cleanly instead. Then, taking a deep breath, she pushed the bone back into place and realigned it so that the two endpoints were almost where they would've been before the break.
