& Alanna Lee I'm waiting for a hero Hushed tones echoed through out the silent hall.Where was I? The hall was dark with the golden candle light flame bouncing off the walls.I could roughly make out the details of what looked like an acheient castle. There was a felling about the place, it caged me in. I was stuck in this place and i hated it,hesitantly I began to walk. Well it was more like a drag, my feet felt like they had ten pound weights tided to them. Slowly I dragged along in silence. Only to be startled by a muffled scream, great I was stuck in some old time horror movie.I wanted to turn and run away, but something pushed me forward. Stupidly my feet obeyed, you know that one part of the movie where your yelling don't go over there and the girl goes over there any ways. Well this is that part, come to me. The voice was sweet and almost angelic. It made me feel safe, blocking out what was happening i moved on.Where are you? I was shocked to hear my own voice reply, weak and shaky I tried to be brave and face my fears but I couldn't. I hadn't even noticed the end of the hall was just out of reach, a huge wooden door sat waiting for me, calling me in. Slowly pressing me ear to the cold wood I could hear the screams better now. Damn it, run already get the hell out of here. But I didn't, frozen in that spot.I could feel the icy touch of fear consuming me slowly.
Slowly I reached out and grabbed the handle, why was I even doing this? The door opened with surprising ease, reviling the hidden terrors.A huge room decorated in dark cloths and tons of candles light. They were all melting slowly, the light creamed wax was in a melted pattern down the sides of the burning sticks. Some how i missed the man and woman standing in the middle of the room, confused i looked at the lady. She was so beautiful, long golden hair flowed past her waist. She had on a white dress that was made of a light material causing it to move beautifully. But something was off about her, she was covered in blood. Looking closer i realized she was to pale and her eyes where a cold blue and frozen open in horror. She was dead, suddenly gasping I looked up at him. He was so beautiful, I wished it was a lie. His eyes where a Scarlet red, like the blood that lay all around him. He was so damn beautiful, it hurt me to think of him as evil. Yet here he was with a dead girl in his arms, maybe he was Turing to help her? I knew the truth and that wasn't it, he was a monster. Suddenly his head jerked up, reviling a sarcastic smile, it made him look old.Who are you? I breathed, hopping to sound strong and unaffected by his beauty. But i knew i failed, his smile twisted into a nasty smirk. The angle opened his mouth and let out a beast like sound, it was a growl. He sounded wild and dangerous.
Gasping for air, I sprang out of my comfy bed. This was the third weird dream this week, they were causing me to get less and less sleep. By now I probably looked like a zombie or something, pulling the satin covers back I gently placed my feet on the floor. The cold hard wood woke me up a bit, habitually looking at the clock I sighed in annoyance. It was only four A.M great.Half asleep I stumbled into my small bathroom, when I turned on the light I couldn't help but to stare. I was so pale so dead looking, maybe it was the dark bags that made me look whiter then ever. Also my long beautiful hair was now in a tangled mess, it showed signs of my troubled sleeping.Well better get started, I sighed and began brushing the messy tangles, tiredly I grabbed my black makeup bag. Pawing around until I found my favorite of all items.Cover-up, magic in a bottle I often called it.Finlay I started to look more like myself and less like some dead girl.
This was as good as it was going to get, I still looked mangled and tired but my old self was coming out. Quickly walking over to my old oak dresser that matched nothing in my room. I began digging through the random clothes that lay in the drawers.Slowly pulling out my light blue wet seal jeans I smiled and grabbed my grey baby doll shit that was on the floor next to my feet. Ya so I wasn't the cleanest person in the world but hell, this was me and i didn't care what anyone thought.I knew where everything of mine is all the same, remembering my money issue I sighed. I need a job, mumbling to myself I grabbed my car keys and walked out the door double checking if I locked it or not.My cherry red mustang was waiting for me right out side the apartment, cherry red and black leather seats. It was a nice car,my "mom" really knew how to give gifts didn't she? Smiling I opened the door and got in. I missed her so much. I was so alone in the world now. Holding back the tears I stared my mustang. It was like the road took away all my troubles, it cleared my head. And before I knew it I was pulling into the parking lot of a tack shop. It had a clever name, that made me smile a bit.I was a sucker for clever names, sighing I turned off the car. I hope they are hiring, hesitantly making my way over to the door. damn it what if they don't want me? what if I'm not good enough? Taking one nervous breath in I pulled the door, jumping a bit at the bell ringing. Man was I nervous, I mean how hard could this be, I used to love talking to people. Hello? my voice came out much weaker then I planed. Silently I looked around, I loved the smell of a new saddle. Call me weird, taking a deep breath in the leathery smell relaxed me a bit. I walked over to a few English saddles, brushing my hand over the soft black leather.

Dreams. Such wonderous things really. When you dreamed, you could enter such amazing worlds, be whoever you wanted to be, do whatever you wanted to do. You could be king of the world, living it large in your magnificent castle in the clouds, served by your many servants, eating the most amazing food imaginable, drinking the sweetest, most delicious wine from a beautifully decorated golden cup. Or you could even be a super hero of sorts, rescuing the world from danger, defeating evil villans. Whatever you could, well, dream of. Of course, there were also those times when you could do nothing. No matter how hard you tried, you couldn't escape. Times where you were just running, from a monster, from some horrible fate. Whatever the case, you just kept running, unabe to stop, not wanting to stop. Or falling. Don't you just hate those dreams. Where you're falling, and you can't do anything about it. And some dreams were just plain strange. John Cooper was having such a dream. Weird and almost completely random, though anyone interested in the topic would be sure to find logical explanations for each of the happens in the said dream. Just because I have nothing better to do, I shall tell you of this dream.
Sitting in his bedroom, at his desk, playing his computer, was a boy. He was a young boy, a child still, though he always thought of himself as older. He could stay home by himself, walk home from school. He could even make himself dinner on those odd occassions when his mother had to work later than usual. Yes, the boy had a mother, unlike the boy who was asleep in bed, dreaming this wonderous dream. Suddenly the old shepherd that had been sleeping at his feet lifted its head sleepily, and began to growl. The boy stopped what he was doing. "What is it boy?" He asked the dog. Standing from his chair, he walked out of his room and towards the door, the dog following behind him. He began to hear a noise. It was so familiar, yet he couldn't name it to save his life. What was it. Opening the front door, he stepped out onto the porch. But he kept going. He walked down the wooden steps, before stopping. The noise was getting louder. That's it, a plane. He looked up into the sky. The dog sat by his side and began to whine. He placed his hand on its head, stroking its soft fur gently. A plane. He watched it fly closer. It was low, too low. A serene calmness overtook him as he watched the plane come closer, lower, straight for him. He was going to die. He looked down at the dog, a sad little smile gracing his lips. "Goodbye old friend." He closed his eyes and waited, the engines of the plane growing louder, closer. Until, silence.
The boy woke with a start, sitting up straight in his bed. Odd. He shook his head lightly, brushing his fingers through his messy hair, before hopping out of bed. He didn't care what time it was. It was still dark, which meant it was too early to be awake. He didn't bother checking his watch, nor his phone, and instead headed straight to the bathroom. He had a quick shower before getting changed into some clean clothes. Just a pair of worn jeans and some random tee. What he usually wore to work. For that's where he was going. Just like every other day. He didn't mind really, working. It kept him alive. Gotta have money, you just couldn't survive without it. Plus, it meant that he now had enough to go buy himself a horse. Nothing fancy of course, but he was sure he could find a good horse at the auction on the weekend, probably green, but he didn't mind training it up himself. He was good with that sort of stuff, and he'd probably prefer it that way anyway. He had his own way of doing things. Training horses was one of those things. So yes, on the weekend, he was off to the auctions to find himself a steed. He was pretty darn excited about it too. But no time to think about that. He had work.
After eating breakfast and all that, he grabbed his phone, wallet, all the essentials really and headed out the door. Jumping into the old jeep, he revved the engine once or twice, before driving out the driveway and onto the road. It was a short drive to the store, but it was still a bit of a hassle. That's why he had been planning on turning the smaller back rooms into a second bedroom. Well, something like that really. All he needed was a couch and a coffee machine. But with a horse on the way, he'd need the paddock back at his house. Anyways, what's a few minutes every morning. He parked in the alley to the side of the store and went inside, changing the side on the front door so that it read 'open'. He quickly went through the aisles, one by one, checking to make sure that all the stock was in good condition, before heading into the back room. A saddle sat on his desk, waiting patiently for him. He had promised one of his customers that he'd fix it for him. Well, he'd finished the fixing, but he thought he might as well polish it up for him too. He was one of his regulars after all. Went through quite a bit of tack actually. He'd have to ask him about that one day.
Hearing the bell ring, announcing the arrival of a new customer, he checked his watch. It was still pretty early. He knew that the old man who owned the saddle wasn't coming around to pick it up until that afternoon, so it was probably someone else. Slightly reluctantly, he placed the saddle back on the desk and put the polish away. Hearing a soft voice, he hurried his pace just a little as he made his way into the store. He was almost surprsied to see the girl standing there. She was pretty young, but then again, for the owner of a fairly successful business, he was pretty young himself. He smiled warmly at her, walking over. "Why hello there. What can I do for you on such a fine mornin' as today?" He asked in a rather cheery voice, chuckling lightly. Yup, he was in a good mood for some odd reason. Who knew why, probably just the excitement of his first horse. Okay, so not first horse. But his first horse that he's buying with his own hard earned money, here in Lexington. Returning his thoughts to the girl standing in front of him, he wondered why she was here. It was rather early to be out saddle shopping wasn't it?
ooc;; i know, he's not finished yet, but i needed a sample post -cough cough- and i reeeeally wanted to post. so yeah. don't kill me! i'll finish him soon. and it's just the personality really... =P muse;; super duper words;; one one six zero song;; secret places - ranger

& Alanna Lee I'm waiting for a hero Dreamingly I traced the leather seat of another saddle, it was nice a stuben. It was a jumping saddle, something I was very familiar with. In fact I hardly used a saddle, bareback riding was the game. You became so close to the horse, felling every muscle in the animal work. Magical really, how long has it been since I rode my boy. He was at my friends house waiting for me.He was nice, smooth gaits and a nice canter. Storm was my boy and I was his girl, nothing would ever change that.Looking around I found a nice bridle that would look perfect on my boy. Slowly taking my time,I made my way over to the bridle. Black with blue stones on the brow ban. I no it's kinda girly but hell I am a girl. Smiling I rubbed my hands over the rune stones.
Jumping as I heard a man voice, knocking over the beautiful bridle. Frozen in embarrassment I listened as the bit clunked as it hit the ground.Rushing to pick it up, I wanted to just walk away and never look back. Damn it could this get any worse? With the bridle in hand I put it back up on the hook. I couldn't bring myself to look him in the eyes, so I focused on the ground. Umm...I was..umm wondering if you might be hiring? Ok thats get this together now. Taking a deep breath in, looking up I tried to smile at him but I couldn't. I was to damn embarrassed.I'm Alanna Night. My voice was supposed to sound strong and sure of myself but I couldn't. Nothing more then a shaky whisper, I really hopped he herd me.He seamed like he was in a rather good mood, so cheery and happy.

Silly boy, look what you've gone and done now. Must've frightened the poor thing. The girl had jumped when he spoke, knocking a bridle off one of the racks. He could tell she was embarrassed, it lined her movements, her expression. Everything. So he tried not to make it any worse for her. He simply stood quietly, patiently, as she quickly pick it up off the ground and placed it back. She sure was an interesting lass, he'd give her that, but the question of her being here was still there at the front of his mind. But then, that's just him being all curious as always. Without lifting her gaze off the ground, either unable to or unwilling, the teen spoke. Her voice was so soft and shaky, fragile almost. Like even the softest of breezes would just carry it away. He smiled. Not mockingly, or anything like that. But because it was the nice thing, the right thing, to do. It was a warm sort of smile, the type that both welcomed and invited. A smile that he had never really gotten as a child, but used quite often. It was just one of those friendly kind of smiles. He figured it was better than saying anything. Words just caused embarrassment, and awkwardness and just weren't really worth saying, when not needed.
Feeling that she wasn't done just yet, he waited for a moment, and sure enough, she spoke once more. Her name. Barely louder than a whisper, but he heard it. He took a step forwards, easily cutting the distance between them with his long strides and offered her his hand. "Well it is a pleasure to make your aquaintance Miss Night." He then took a smaller step back, trying not to intimidate the poor girl. He was quite tall after all. And well built. It didn't surprise him really that some people found him frightening even. So yeah, he didn't want to give that impression. Suddenly, he remembered that the girl had asked a question, and quickly replied. "Truth be told, we're not hiring at the moment, sorry to say. But, I suppose I could use a bit of help around here. Just some basic work really, tidying, checking the inventory, but it's better than nothing I suppose. You up for it?" By this point he was smiling. Really, he was doing just fine on his own, but it would be nice to have a bit of company, and at least this way he'd be able to get out a bit more, rather than spending all his time at the store. Also, she seemed nice enough, and it wasn't in his nature not to help such a pretty young lass. Still smiling, he waited for a reply.
ooc;; guess he could find some casual work for her to do haha. anything to help a fellow lexingtonian out, especially such a pretty one xD muse;; not great words;; four six one song;; porch dweller - armen firman

& Alanna Lee I'm waiting for a hero Is bad luck attracted to me? Well it seams like it, Everything that can go wrong always does in my story. There really is no happy ending, just a incomplete sentence. Leaving the reader wondering about me, but i guess in kinda used to not knowing. But this time I was hopping things could flow smoothly...just this once. Oh no...nope I had to jump when the guy spoke, knocking down a beautiful bridle. Oh and to make things worse, I sounded like I was five. I bet he felt sorry for me. Oh look at her lonely little orphan all alone in the world. Well that is the last thing I want, I can take care of myself who needs someone to depend on. Perhaps they even get in the way, so its best that I'm alone right? No matter how many times I tell myself this... I never believe it. I guess I'm giving myself false Hope or something, like I'm convincing my self thats that is true but I no its not. No we are made in pares, there is always someone out there for you no matter how alone you feel. Where is mine? I'm waiting...
Slowly lifting my embarrassed gaze from the ground, I watched him take one step closer. Offering his hand, I just stood there starring at it. Like I forgot the most human of all jesters. Suddenly remembering I quickly put my hand in his, people told my that my handshake was hard. I wasn't one of those girl who just put there hand there and moved it around, nope I had meaning in mine. The next thing i knew I was smiling, I'm sorry but I still don't know your name. Blue eyes could Finley look at his face, he was well built thats for sure. I wasn't afraid, but curious. There was something about him, but I didn't know what It just made me wounder. Woken by his next words, I knew I frowned immediately, what was i thinking marching in here expecting a job. Lifting my hand from his almost delicately I turned and took one step back. I was headed for the door when I heard the next sentence. I couldn't help but to look back and see his expression, was he doing this cuz he really felt sorry for me?
I found nothing but warmth, cleaning. Man I hated it but hell I needed money, Umm ya I think I can handle that. Slowly turning back to face him, I manged a smile. This was in fact my first job ever so this would be kinda different, but I always adapt. When do you want me to start? Hopping to sound more confident, I stared at him hopping he believed it. I was never really good at lieing. I always looked way to nervous, I envied those people who could lie there ass off and never get caught. And in some ways I pity them, I bet no one ever trust them. There word would be tainted by the lies and it would be hard to earn anyones trust. Gaze shifted from him to the store, it was nice. I wondered if he was the owner...or just some employee. He looked to young to own a store, maybe his dad owned it or something like that. Silently questioning myself I waited for him to speak.

The smile on Johnny's lips widenned slightly as the teen took his hand, shaking it firmly. For a moment there he thought she was just going to leave him hanging. But obviously not. He was slightly surprised at the firmness to her shake. Most girls were just so gentle and didn't put any feeling into theirs. This girl was different. It made him wonder about who she was. Okay, so she human. He could tell that much from her scent. But still, he couldn't help but be slightly curious. Suddenly she smiled, and it filled him with a strange warmth. She began to speak and her voice filled the near silent store. He was, however, slightly taken back by her words. He couldn't believe he hadn't introduced himself. "Really? Oh, well fancy that. Anyways, I am John Cooper. Owner of this lovely establishment here." He said with a light chuckle, that same old warm, friendly smile never leaving his lips. He was glad to see that she had finally gotten enough courage to look up at him, though he couldn't really see what had kept her. It's not like he was some big scary werewolf. Well, he was big. And a werewolf. But that's not the point. Plus, he was definately not scary. But still, as her gaze met his, it made him feel better, that she was finally warming up to him, instead of being all shy like.
He noticed her slight frown as he mentioned what tasks she was meant to be doing, but it soon disappeared from her face and she managed to replace it with a smile. It seemed as though cleaning wasn't really her thing. Well, that made two of them. Also, he didn't really have time for cleaning. There was so many other tasks to do, that general tidying of the store seemed far less important. As she spoke once more, he hoped that she didn't think that he was just a charity. That he pitied her or something like that. For she requited no pity. She was young, beautiful, and from he had seen kind. Sure, she needed a job, but who didn't. Unfortunately, money made the world go round, and without it, well, life could be tough. He knew all about that. So no, he didn't find her pitiful at all. He was simply helping her because he could. Becuase it was just how he was raised. He was a real gentleman like that, opening doors and the whole shabang. It was just part of who he was. As she spoke once more, this time a question, he refocused his attention on her, not letting his mind wander too far. He thought about it quickly, before finding an answer to her question. After all, he hadn't exactly expected a new employee, nor working hours for said employee. But they'd figure something out.
"How about tomorrow. I'm always here early, but the store doesn't actually open until eight. So if you could be here by then, that should be fine." He replied, hoping that would be okay by her. Sure, he could've made her arrive early and clean the place before it opened, so it was ready by the time the customers arrived. But truth was they didn't usually have any customers come in until at least after nine. After all, it was tack, and that could usually wait an hour or two. So no, the store was usually pretty empty in the mornings. Getting a quick thought, he looked at her with a small smile. "Just wondering, but did you have anything planned for today? If not, then I could show you around the shop, where everything is and all that," he said. His voice, usually quite loud and full of confidence was quite a bit softer, though he noticed it more than he thought anyone else would. It was also a lot more hestitant than it normally was and he couldn't help but smile. Nervously, but it was full of warmth none the less. He found it odd that he would suddenly become so nervous around this girl. This human girl. Not that he had anything against humans, but they didn't exactly make him hesitant as some of the other beings around. Then again, she did smell really pretty.. maybe that was it. He pushed the thought out of his mind for the moment and waited for a responce.

& Alanna Lee I'm waiting for a hero who am i? Really...I guess no one can answer that but myself right? I guess I am Alanna Lee Night, daughter of someone who didn't care. But why would my issues be important? The world hurts and hear i am talking about how shitty my life has been. I guess I really lost myself in the end. I remember that girl who was fun. Nothing held me back then, reality has caught me now. Oh well, she is gone and a more timid girl remains.Beautiful blue gems wondered around the room carelessly, man this kinda did suck. I really! hated to clean. Yet I was still excited, I haven't been excited about anything for a long time. I couldn't help but smiling to myself, why was i so happy about working here? Was it the cute boss guy...hehe, or the getting out of the house and doing something. His voice filled the air once more, catching my attention. He still had a nice smile on and that helped me feel more comfortable around him. He was quiet large, not like fat but like buff. At first that frightened me, but now it kinda makes me feel safe. One word made my mouth slightly fall open, he was the owner. He was so young, he looked to be only a couple years older then myself, and he was a thriving business man...nice. In slight embarrassment I quickly closed my mouth.
I watched him carefully, well Mr. Cooper nice to meetcha. Belles chimed sweet hopping they could be friends or something. He seemed nice enough... I mean there are plenty of creeps out there and I knew he defiantly wasn't one of them. My eyes were glued to his now, it seemed like he was thinking about my last question. I just barged in hopping for a job, how could he ever saw it coming. He probley didn't have anything worked up for me.Finally he spoke, tomorrow. I was supposed to do a hunter/jumper show with Storm, oh well ill make it up to him later. I think an apple and some sugar cubes would make him forget about the show. I hadn't had much time to ride my boy since I moved here, In fact I haven't had much time with him. He was at my friends house until I found a place to keep him, I didn't want to stable him here. Ill keep looking, maybe someone wants a pasture buddy he was always good with other horses. Not to dominate and not to sweet, forgetting about answering him. I smiled, Ya that should be fine...Ill have to get rid of some plans with my storm...but I think he will live.
Just from looking around I could see this place was kept nice and clean, but sure maybe it did need some dusting and some tiding up a bit. But other then that it looked very nice.Lost in my plans to clean his question caught me off guard, turning my head back to him. I found myself smiling like a damn fool, Well i have nothing planed so why not, letting out a small giggle. I could tell he was a little less confident then before but who isn't. He still had a nice sweet smile on his face. The made my smile stay, he was a nice guy. So Mr. Cooper do you have any horses of your own? hopping to start a convo I waited for his reply almost eagerly

As the girl spoke once more, John noticed how her voice had seemed to lose some of that initial nervousness and hesitation. Perhaps she was finally getting used to him, to this whole situation here. He hoped so. After all, they'd have to get along if she was to work here. Or rather, now that she was working here. He couldn't help but notice that she seemed to have a problem with working tomorrow. Did she already make plans? Well, that wasn't really a surprise. A gorgeous girl like herself, she probably had a boyfriend or something like that that she was seeing. Then she smiled and answered. Frowing slightly, he wtached her for a second, before a hint of that smile reappeared on his lips. "If you have plans, just tell me. I don't want to stop you from living your life, you know. So if you want to go see your boyfriend or whatever.." He hoped he didn't sound like he didn't want her there. It's just that he knew how hard it could be sometimes, working all the time. It meant that he hardly ever got to go out and just enjoy himself. After all, if he wasn't at the store, then who was? So if she had plans to go see her boyfriend, then she should definately go. Okay, so he found Storm a bit of a weird name, but whatever, he wasn't one to judge. And yes, that was the first explanation that came to mind.
As she spoke once more, the smile returned to his lips. She had laughed. It was a nice laugh. Not like some people. It was cute. Realising he was rambling on in his head, he focused his attention back on the girl. "Good. I guess we'll start off out back, if that's fine with you." He said, motioning towards the door at the back of the store. He started walking towards it, but waited for her first. As she spoke once more, he couldn't help but smile. "Sure do. It's just the two for now, but I guess I don't really have time for any more. Or space." He said, thinking about the small paddock at the back of his house. It was big enough for maybe three, four horses, but he just wouldn't feel right about having any more than two. And with him working constantly, the two were time consuming enough as it was. He quickly went on with what he was saying. "Chips and Orion. Chips, or Cookies n Cream as her show name goes, it an arabian appaloosa cross, and Orion's pure appy. Oh, and please, just call me John," he said with a warm smile. He loved his two horses dearly, especially Chips. She had been his first horse to buy by himself, for himelf, after leaving his father's, well now uncle's cattle property. He used to show her and all, but after the old man who had owned the store died and left it to him, he just hadn't the time to compete. That was one of the reasons he had bought Orion, to keep his mare company. Looking back at the teen, he smiled. "So what about you?" He asked curiously.

& Alanna Lee I'm waiting for a hero Why was I ok around him? Most of the time it takes years for me to be able to be so talkative, yet here I am rambling on about stuff. I was watching him, trying to figure him out, but I couldn't like it was really bugging me. Something happened that I didn't expect, he had a slight frown when I talked about storm. The next thing I knew he was talking about me having plans with a boyfriend. Me have a boyfriend, no. I haven't gotten out of the house enough to get a boy friend. And really it was my main concern. Before I could stop my self I let out a small chuckle, no I was really laughing at him...ok I was but it wasn't in a mean way. Mr. Copper Strom is not my boy friend...hes my horse. Your not stopping me from doing anything. At this point I couldn't help but think he was cute, really cute.when his smile returned mine did,he was different. It was sweet of him to let me go with my boyfriend if I wanted to, I mean what boss would let you choose if the time is ok with you. I mean he probably had a girlfriend and what not, I'm just some random girl who just met him. How am I supposed to expect him to fall in love with me right then and there. Even though part of me did want that, whoa I am getting way a head of my self.
Looking back up at the man I smiled as he showed her toward the back of the store.I followed him in silence, listening to him speak. When he spoke about his all I could think of was storm, I did miss him. Hell I wish he was my boyfriend, I would so marry storm in a heart beat. Horses just make life happier, you could be broke and losing everything you own. But once you hop on the back of a pony, its like the world freezes and your problems are gone. Well at least thats how I feel when I'm riding, maybe I'm just some freak who loves horses just a little two much. Oh well, They sound like nice horses Mr.- um john sorry. I turned and looked at him one last time before I went on, well I have my Boyfriend, pausing just to make sure I put extra emphasis on the boyfriend part. I walked in to get my new saddle and bridle that i had fixed eariler. I notice a couple of people near me. I then nod my head as i walk in and walk to the counter. My saddle needed to be fixed because one of the horses i was training totaly ruined it when i was breaking it. But hey, it happens. I then looked at the two again and then looked at a saddle that was infront of me. It was beautiful. Black leather with silver all over it. Seemed to look like it was new. I traced my hand over the silver that was on the horn. I could use this for caming shows if i wanted to. Or even for just western pleasure. I looked at the price and shrugged. I wanted this saddle. I had enough from my last purse from bull riding last weekend in Tulsa. I waited for the person to show up so i could buy it. Underneath my cowboy hat, i watched the 2 that were near me. I was not sure what they were talking about. But i continued to watch them. They guy seemed to be the owner of this place. The girl seemed to be needing a job. I really did not want to stay long because the last time i rode, i landed on my back and the bull step right on my left leg. It was till hurting from last weekend. Lukily i had not broken anything. The bone was just bruised. I continued to watch them for a moment, and then walked up to the counter. I am here to pick up a saddle that needed to be fixed. I dropped it off a few days ago. I was just wondering if it was fixed and all. I looked back at the saddle. And i would like to know how much that saddle is over there. I pointed to a tan saddle with black felt on the seat, and silver all over it. I shifted my weight for a moment on my good leg. My left leg seemed to be bothering me a bit. I looked at him for a moment and waited for him to reply. OCC: This is the saddle he is talking about www.kathys-show-tack.com/images/uploads/S10036.jpg

So when the girl started chuckling lighty, John had to stop and think for a second and try to figure out why. Was she laughing at him? It didn't sound like that sort of mean laugh, but then what was it for. As she spoke, he realised his mistake. And what a mistake too. Jeez. How could he have been so stupid to assume. Seriously, what kind of a name was strom anyways. For a human anyway, for a horse it was fine. Was that really the best explanation he could come up with? He truly was pathetic. Maybe it was because she was so pretty, that he just assumed she had a boyfriend. Maybe he wanted to convince himself that she was taken, to stop him going there. After all, she was his employee now, and now he was her boss and really if something did happen it'd be way too cliqued and probably not very appropriate, and yeah. But no, that wasn't going to happen so there was nothing to worry about. Even if she didn't have a boyfriend. Which meant that technically she could possibly go out with him. But no. Not an option right now. For now. He shoved the thought back into the furthest corner of his mind, but it was a little too late. Already he could feel the heat rising in his cheeks and he was sure that he was blushing. At least a little. Damn, he hoped that she didn't notice. Or at least, pretend that she didn't. It would just be easier that way.
As they walked to the back room, he looked over at her as she spoke, smiling. They were nice horses. He couldn't ask for better. Okay, so they definately weren't the showiest push button ponies aroun, but then, he wouldn't want them to be. They were what they were. They tried hard and always did their best, and that's all he could really ask of them. As she continued on to speak about her own horse, he could feel the blush returning to his cheeks, as he glanced away briefly, too embarrassed to look her in the eyes as he smiled sheepishly. Just had to tease him, didn't she. Not that he really minded. Just a bit of fun. Actually, it was good to see her loosen up a bit. It was a nice change. Suddenly she tripped, landing on her face. He stopped immediately, and was about to say something or offer his help, but she looked fine. If she had wanted his help, she would've asked for it. And since she didn't say anything, except mumble something beneath her breath, he didn't offer her a hand. After all, it had to be embarrassing enough as it was. Didn't need him making it worse by fussing over her. Or teasing her, though the thought did cross his mind. Instead he just waited for her to stand, before turning and offering her a smile. "Well Storm sounds like a pretty nice horse too. Especially since he's not your boyfriend." He added with a cheeky grin.
Hearing the bell ring as the door opened, John turned to see a man walk into the store. He immediately recognised the guy. It was sort of hard not to. With the cowboy hat and all. Yeah, it was definately him. He turned quickly to Alanna with a slightly disappointed smile. "I'll be right back. Just need to take care of something." He said softly before walking towards his desk, upon which sat the saddle he had fixed. He quickly finished polishing it, looking up every now and again to see what the guy was doing, but he seemed to be looking at the other saddles for sale. He had almost been finished polishing when the girl had come in, so it didn't take him long at all to finish up. He stood, lifting the saddle and carrying it over to the counter just as the man walked over. He seemed to be limping, or maybe he was just seeing things. "Why hello there." He said happily, as the other guy spoke. "Yup, all fixed. And I thought I might as well polish it up for you too. Like new it is." He said with a smile, before looking over to the saddle he pointed at. "Nice choice. Though a little pricey. That one there's $3,000. Though for you, I'll make it $2,500." He walked over to the saddle and brought it back over to the counter. "Real nice, this one. Yup. So did you want it too?" He asked, shifting his gaze from the saddle to the man before him. He hoped Alanna didn't mind him sort of ignoring her right now, but he did need to serve his customer after all. And it wasn't like he'd forgotten her. He stood, waiting for an answer.

I sigh. I was not sure if i would be able to pay for the saddles. I looked at him for a second. I am going to have to think about it. Will you put it on hold for me? I looked back at the saddle for a second and smile. I am going to buy it when i have more money. I then shift weight on my feet again as my leg starts to hurt again. It has been bothering me for the passed couple of days. I know i should be off it right now, but i have so many things i have to do around the ranch. I have to feed the horses and all.
I realized that i was rambling and smiled at the girl who was standing over on my right. I nodded my head in a pleasent way. I looked at the guy. I then thought about other people who were bull riders. I htought that maybe the should know about me and how good i am at what i do. Do you know of any good bull riders around here? I mean, i need to know if there is anyone who is better than me. I did not want to think about losing to someone who was not better than me. But hey, it has happened to me. I put the money down for the repair of my saddle and smiled. I put my wallet back in my pocket and waited for him to respond to my question. I knew that there were going to be others that are better than me. I then knew i had to practice some more with the guys while we were off the rodeo circut during the winter.
